Samsung Galaxy SII Review, Pros and Cons

September 16th, 2011 | Gadgets Reviews | by RaniDababneh

I’ve recently received the Samsung Galaxy SII to experience for couple of weeks so here I will post my brief and quick review.

Samsung Galaxy SII could be the finest smartphone in the world, beside being the thinnest, yet it still has couple of cons.

Samsung Galaxy SII Pros

The phone has the latest version of the one of the best operating systems out there, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), running on 1GB RAM and a decent internal memory of 16/32 GB and a microSD expansion capability of 32GB through a memory card, beside a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, that are making the GalaxySII probably the best smartphone in terms of performance and response time.

The 8 megapixel camera,  which shoots pictures in excellent resolutions and can also record video at 1080p quality and 30fps rate, is another great thing about the Galaxy SII.Samsung Galaxy SII

Another pro of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the display, a super AMOLED Plus capacitive 4.3” touchscreen, which can be clearly distinguished even if viewed directly under the sun, and will never fail you.

Samsung Galaxy SII Cons

Battery life could be better than other smartphones yet still it lasts for almost 24 hours only at regular usage.

It’s a bit big, size is larger than 4.3” diagonally, so it’s a little bit less portable.

It’s hot! Beside being hot in market, it also gets hot when 3G connection is on and when plugged into the charger!

Price is a bit expensive, it’s around JOD 550, in Jordan.

Samsung Galaxy SII Review, Pros and Cons

  • Omar Qunsul

I heard once that all the Samsung Galaxy S2 in Jordan are of bad quality, especially those from Orange

    • Rani Dababneh

Any proofs or multiple similar complaints? What parts/issues are exactly of bad quality?!

      • Omar Qunsul

No I didn’t buy/use it yet, I’m still waiting for my perfect Android mobile :) But this is what an employee at Orange ( 7th circle office ) told me and my friend, because my friend wanted to buy it.

My friend ended up with buying LG P970 ( which is a really good mobile for 300 JD only, 1 GHz Processor ! )
I’m not sure if my first comment is true or not, that’s why I started it with ‘I heard once’ :)
@ahmadiga tweeted that he bought this mobile, so maybe he can tell us about it

there are so many Galaxy S2 that I am confused what to buy. I am stuck between the Galaxy sii SGH-1777 from At&t and the Galaxy sii i1900 (europe version). I dont know which is better and how much they and the other galaxy sii are different. could anyone guide me as to which one to buy.
