Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Review, Pros, Cons, Specifications compared to iPad2

December 24th, 2011 | Gadgets Reviews | by RaniDababneh

I’ve recently received the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to experience for couple of weeks so here I will post my brief review.

Of course the first thing to notice was the shift since the – last year – Galaxy Tab 7.0 I’ve reviewed and owned, in terms of physical size, thickness and mobility, beside the operating system and usability shift.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Pros

1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 & GeForce GPU, running on 1 GB RAM forces a great response time and efficient performance while running multiple applications. Flash support is brilliant and enables developers to develop advanced graphics and game apps. Stunning display and sharp picture quality. Elegant tablet that feels strong, while weighing less than the iPad 2. Satisfactory battery lifetime, 1 day for regular usage.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Cons

Poor cameras; primary camera is only 3MP, the another front camera for video calling is only 2MP. While the absence of a microSD card can be forgiven, considering that the tablet comes with 16 or 32 GB of internal storage space, there is no excuse for the lack of USB and HDMI ports! And most importantly price is a bit expensive, 16GB is around JOD 650 in Amman, Jordan.

    The
things I am looking forward to most on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 are the huge screen,
the dual-core processor, and LTE! I am definitely excited about getting mine.
LTE is something that I have wanted to use for the longest time! I stream quite
a lot on my phone using the DISH Remote Access app, and it is great, but on 3G,
it is just not the best for high definition streaming. LTE would be great for
streaming live TV and recorded shows from my Sling Adapter-connected receiver
to my Tab. From my experience working for DISH, I have had a lot of time to
play with the app, and as great as it is on 3G, I think I am going to enjoy it
    much more using LTE!
